a forgotten painting
those of you that know me well, know that i have a horrible memory
awhile back i was over at a friend’s house
and noticed a painting that they had in their stairwell
my heart jumped, and i thought, “what a beautiful painting!”
and my friends reminded me that i had given it to them years ago
i couldn’t believe it
i totally forgot that i had even painted this piece

I like all of the negative space…

for those of you that don’t know
…maggie is my sister
her comment about the negative space is a joke
because she laughed and said that she didn’t even know
what “negative space” meant
she said that she just heard me say it before
i told her that it doesn’t come off as a joke, because it actually is
an appropriate comment for this piece
so, that made me laugh
