the purest little heart
“the purest little heart”
16″ x 20″ fresco

this painting has a really sweet story behind it
it was commissioned by a groom for his bride as his wedding gift to her.
I usually don’t work from other’s photos
but i didn’t have a choice
this groom told me that he wanted to commission a painting
that would encapsulate all that this precious woman means to him
…he told me about all of the many facets of his love for her
i was touched…at times even moved to tears
(i had only met this wonderful woman over the phone…
when she wrote an article about me
for southwest art magazine a few years ago)
i asked him to gather childhood photos
this painting developed mostly from one photo,
but i had to use about 5 different ones to capture the features…
since the main photo that i was working from
was one of those blurry 70s photos
it went over well i hear
best wishes to the newlyweds!

I was checking out your blog when Ren came by and said that she wanted to say something.
ren Said. “I like it. It’s cool. I like it a lot.”
I love this too.
You’ve got a raving fan

Ali,
Speaking as her mother, I can say you captured my lovely daughter perfectly! We were all moved to tears when the painting was unveiled at their wedding. You’re a wonderful artist. Thank you so much for creating something so special.

I was also at the wedding and there are no words for the overwhelming reaction this painting received when Richard unveiled it. You are such a gifted artist. I also thank you for making this happen for one of my favorite couples.
