an arc, placing me in a vivid illusion

this is my first painting of Milly since the spring show
it is from a modeling session from a month or so ago
i’m getting into magenta, it’s my new favorite paint color
something about these socks remind me of those fancy striped christmas candies…what are they called?
or also like fruit stripes gum…one of my childhood favorites

i know……

ribbon candies!
my memory is of ribbon candies in a carnival glass bowl
i’m seeing the bowl on top of a tv console (70s style) with a doiley underneath the bowl

Such a beautiful simple painting! I am tied between the ear peeking out from the site and the light hitting the sock.

The socks remind me of ribbon candy. When I was a kid, my dad always bought ribbon candy as a treat around Christmas. This painting is beautiful. Thank you.
