#3 of the series
…
“untold tangle”
15″ x 20″ (watercolor)

the retro shirt, purchased a few weeks ago,
has brought me so many ideas
i have 6 that are in the series
here is #2
“waiting for amusement”
15″ x 20″ (watercolor)

today i finally finished constructing two big panels for new oils
the panels take so long to build
if i were to ever become “rich and famous”
i don’t need a bigger house or better car
i’d just love to be able to pay someone to make panels for me
it’s so tedious and technical…no room for creativity…at all
…
there is a new watercolor…completed today
i finished the figure last week
and today, felt like playing in the negative space
i have so many new ideas swirling in my head
for new oils and new waters
that this piece almost fell into the dark, dark pile of
“unfinished studies”
it does depict my mood for the last few days
…introverted with a little darkness hovering above
“please don’t look right now”
11″ x 15″ (watercolor)

i think my heart started beating a little harder
or did my mouth start to water…
when i saw this shirt at a local store two days ago
…it was the fabric,
…my favorite colors in a 50’s vintage floral design
it was in the girls section and only one left
luckily it was a perfect fit on my daughter
i couldn’t wait to get up the next day and start painting it
“unthinkable game”
15″ x 20″ (watercolor)

“yesterday, i thought of you”
15″ x 20″ (watercolor)

in this study
i really wanted to play with the patterning on the dress
the pattern is similar to a dress that i painted last year
i loved the way that dress turned out in the previous oil painting
and thought it might be interesting to play with the idea in watercolor
