this last week has been surreal…sad…enlightening
so many thoughts and feelings floating around in my mind
i’m amazed that such deep darkness can bring so much light

i finished this piece yesterday, late in the afternoon
a few hours later,
i found out that my dad lost his life
…an unexpected heart attack
i have a lot of sadness in my heart right now

the past few weeks have felt like they are moving slow
as far as art production goes
it’s the middle of summer now
and the kids need at least 2 hours of swimming daily…
…to keep their sanity
finn will only do the baby pool, so i can’t really get in and swim
it’s been nice to force myself to slow down a few hours daily to read and journal
…

i’ve been working on watercolor #4
today, i needed niamh to take the pose for me again
so that i could study some details and put on some finishing touches
HOLY COW! swimming two hours a day for the last month
has given her an olympic style muscular back
she doesn’t even look like the same model that i photographed a month ago
…shocking
i’ll have to do some new paintings with her muscular physique
in the meantime…
