artist statement
I have a great affection for the unrefined spirit of children in their formative years. The composition of a child's form brings thoughts of innocence, and sparks nostalgia. My fascination with patterns and textiles comes to light in the clothes and fabrics that I place on my figures.
My creative process is an intuitive journey into the human condition. Within each painting I find a close connection with the figure. I place subtle words and messages next to each figure. These messages have definitive meaning for me, but are minimal so that each individual viewer can insert their own interpretations.
